From Bandai comes this bat-tastic “movie realization” of Batman and the Bat-Pod from “The Dark Knight!” No scale is given, but Batman stands about 20cm tall, putting him at roughly 1/9 scale. A collaboration by Masakazu Katsura and Takayuki Takeya, the set includes the fully articulated and exquisitely detailed Batman with weapons and three sets of hands, and the magnificently detailed Bat-Pod with clear stand (won’t stay upright without the stand!). 5 Stars Bat-maniacs Rejoice!!
If those of you who are viewing this product are Batman fans (let alone fans of the spectacular movie that inspired this set) then you owe it to yourself this holiday season to get this ultra cool Batman figure with Bat-pod. Well worth the price, this finely crafted realization of the Dark Knight looks better than most (if indeed, all)of the Batman toys out in the market that I have seen. Batman’s armor is highly detailed and looks exactly like the armor in the Dark Knight (you can even move the blades on his gauntlet! How cool is that, honestly?!!). However, one will notice this model is very Japanese-stylized thanks to Bandai and that just bumps up its cool factor by several billion. You can interchange Batmans hands between three pairs of hands. One is a standard closed fist pair, the seconds is a pair designed so that Batman can hold his grappling gun and/or a sweet lil’ bat-shiruken, and the third pair is so Bats can handle the other awesome piece in the set, a superbly detailed Batpod! Like its rider, the Bat-pod is hyper detailed and looks amazing (like someone shrunk the actual Batpod used in this summer’s blockbuster). When I placed the Batman on his Batpod, I was so amazed I half expected it to start up and start racing around my room. Ahh, the good times. Buyers remember that isn’t a “toy”, meaning you shouldnt give it to a five year old kid who would throw it around the room or who could choke on the small parts such as the spare hands or grappling gun. This is a superb collectors item for those who want to capture the essence of the Dark Knight.
